Minerva
Minerva is an accomplished dancer and choreographer who was the NBA All Star Dancer for the Toronto Raptors Dance Pak in 2007. She was voted by a worldwide fan base to be a part of the only NBA All-Star dance team in history at the NBA All Star Game in Las Vegas. Minerva was a dancer and choreographer for the NBA Toronto Raptors Dance Pak for 5 years and also choreographed for the NBA Mini- Dance Pak. She has performed live for thousands of fans and travelled from Winnipeg to China, for the NBA JAM VAN TOUR. Minerva acquired a love for dance at an early age and at age 14 started professional training at The Conservatory of Dance and Music in Toronto.
She has trained professionally in jazz, ballet and hip hop, and has some dance background in salsa, Indian and modern dance. With over 10 years of training, Minerva has trained with top professionals in the dance industry such as Laurie Ann Gibson, Tabitha and Napoleon, Brian Friedman and Luther Brown, and has performed with artists such as Glass Tiger, Matisse, Joe Louis, Johnny Stevens and more. Minerva has been featured on numerous television and radio shows such as TSN, Raptor TV Live, CITY TV, NBA XL, Sun TV: Canoe Live, Life TV, FAN 590, and ABC & Flow 93.5. She was also seen in “Making the Pak” on Raptors TV, “My Parents House” on HGTV,“Day in the Life of Minerva”, and hosted the “Drunken Monks” interview on NBA XL. Her commercial credits include Esquire, Sony Walkman, Hockey Trade (on TSN & CTV), and HBO’S “Boxing After Dark”. Minerva has also made a promising start in the modeling world as an original “Fafinette” model for MAC Cosmetics’ 2008 Spring Collection “Fafi” line. Her choreography was highlighted in Toronto’s prestigious show, THE BAZZAR in May & August of 2009. And also performed with noteable choreographers in THE BAZZAR and Toroto’s Original Choreographers Ball.
In addition to Minerva’s love of performance, she has taught dance at various dance studios for over 7 years. Currently, she is teaching dance at Seneca College and Street Dance Academy, as well as guest hosting for Raptors TV & Score: NBA XL’s “Freshly Dipped”. Minerva has just also finished her first tour with Massari in the Middle East and just finished filming a feature film, “The Killer Gods”. As always,Inspired by the art of dance and a passion to continue performing, Minerva has embarked on a venture of her own in the creation of a dance entertainment company, “The Wedding Choreographers & Co.”, to provide elite dance entertainment with Toronto’s accomplished dance talent to special events in Toronto.
La Toya
La Toya has been dancing since a she was able to walk. Trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Gymanstics since the age of 3, she currently works as a Hip hop dancer in the city. You may have seen her in the movies, Bojangles, Honey and Save the Last Dance 2, or may have caught her on stage dancing for Akon, Fergie, Blacked Eyed Peas, Massari, Jully Black, Flo-Rida and Kim Davis. The past 3 years she has spent travelling around the world with Canadian artist Massari, visiting the Middle-East, Europe, Africa and Australia. La Toya made an appearance on Season 2’s So You Think You Can Dance Canada assisting head judge Tre Armstrong in the Disco routine and Luther Brown in the Hip Hop top 12 opening number. Just this past New Years eve, she performed on City TV’s NYE 2010 Bash dancing for Kardinal Offishall. We are honored and proud to have La Toya join The Wedding Choreographers & Co team. Brittany
Brittany Hutton is a dancer of many kinds. Her love and passion for dance has taken her world wide. She has performed in Greece, Italy, Turkey, France, Barcelona, Morocco, all over the caribbean and across North America. Brittany has worked on cruise ships and has performed in many live events throughout Toronto including special events for The Wedding Choreographers & Co & Toronto showcases such as The Bazaar & MORE creative events. She has trained at Broadway Dance Centre in New York city and was able to perform in “Sybarite”, a choreographers showcase. She is currently a dance student at George Brown College. Brittany is an orginal dancer for The Wedding Choreographers & Co since November 2008 and due to her extentive dance background, training and talent she has become one of our sought out choreographers. Lauren
Lauren’s passion for dance began at the age of thirteen, at Rosedale Heights School of the Arts. There she studied various forms of dance focusing on Modern, Jazz and Ballet. As a member of the RHSA Dance Company, she performed throughout Ontario and New York City. Inspired by her mother to try ballroom, Lauren enrolled in the American Ballroom and Latin Teacher Training Program at the Joy of Dance Studio. She completed the seventeen dance program and graduated with honors. Following graduation, she pursued her Canadian Dancesport Federation teacher’s certification, receiving one of the top marks in Canada. Lauren furthered her training in the Dance Performance Certificate Program at George Brown College. Upon graduating she was asked to join one of Toronto’s most innovative and versatile dance companies, A.I.M. (Artists in Motion) Dance Company. Laurens ability to quickly learn many forms of dance has attracted the attention of choreographers in Toronto; including Salsa legend Albert J. Gomez of Strickly Salsa. Since joining his company, Lauren has performed at numerous functions and showcases. In 2010, she competed in the professional division placing 2nd at the Toronto Salsa Festival. Lauren continues to share her passion and love for dance through choreographing, teaching and performing anywhere it carries her.
Alex

In 2005, Alexandra left her home in Saskatchewan to experience big city life in Toronto, Canada. It wasn’t long until she was thrown into the Toronto dance scene and fell in love with all of its possibilities. Alexandra has since danced all over the world; China, Singapore, Japan, Lebanon, Greece, Sweden and the USA. She is featured in Much Music commercials and the Family Channel, as well as ‘Skittles’ Candy, Dr. Pepper and IMAX commercials.
Alexandra has danced for Canadian artists Shawn Desman, Aleesia, Adriana Taylor, Shiloh, Alexis on fire and toured internationally with Massari.
Alexandra has numerous live shows under her belt, including Harley Davison, Estee Lauder and placing the finals of the annual 6 Degrees Professional Salsa competition. She also danced for Nelly Furtado’s record label launch featuring Nelly’s first signed band, Fritz Helder and the Phantoms.
The most memorable live-televised performances to date was Alexandra dancing for Lady GaGa during her infamous performances at the Much Music Video Awards in 2009 and again in 2011.
Alexandra has been teaching workshops and choreographing across Canada. Recently, she has been co-choreographing and teaching at conventions and workshops alongside Miles Faber (SYTYCD Canada Season 1). She also choreographs competitive routines for dance studios across Canada.
